We all love Leighton Meester. But what the hell happened to her!? Blair Waldrof is the epitome of classiness. Leighton, at one point of time, was too. Not, however, anymore.

Her dress is undeniably bad-ass – I love the leather mini with a slight peek-a-boo thing going on. And she couldn’t have chosen better shoes than a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood. But her face! It seems to me that she was going for a crying-all-night-covered-up-by-a-bad-vampire-esque-eyes look. It looks just awful. The hints of purple and gold – not helping. And the red lips do nothing to help this already horrendous look either – if anything, it makes it look worse. (Is it just me, or does she really look like a female version of the Joker from Batman? *shudder*) Her hair looks limp and unkept, and not in a sexy way.

This, lovelies, is what people in the fashion industry call an attempt at goth-chic that fell flat on it’s face. Look closely because it is a rare phenomenon and you may (hopefully) not see another one like this for the next 473290147023 years.

I’m pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say that I hope that this is the last we see of this look from Leighton, yes?

Hello!

Hope everyone is loving Gossip Girl Season 3!

But lets get down to business. The lovely Leighton Meester was spotted looking so cute at the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards.
She presented the award for ‘Woodie of the year’, alongside Cyndi Lauper.

Just firstly, this outfit is a drastic improvement from her last public appearance.

She is seen in a cute-as, black, futuristic, long-sleeved tshirt paired with a tight grey high-waisted skirt.
Ok, I totally love this ensemble. It has a very high fashion feel to it plus it suits her figure amazingly.
Love the pattern on the skirt as it spices everything up a little bit. The cute patterened bangles and ring look great and the textures clash perfectly.

I also love her hair and make-up. Just stunning!
The soft sausage curls put into the loose side-swept pony is tre-cute and the makeup is so beautiful – It outlines her delicate facial features and looks alot better than the American Eagle outfitters opening party.

Hey everyone!

Leighton was recently spotted along with other Gossip Girl stars at the official American Eagle Outfitters flagship store preview party.

She was slotted in to perform her debut single, ‘Somebody to love’ and ‘Good girls gone bad’.

Ok, Just have to mention..Her 80’s inspired outfit is very interesting. Not a big fan of the tights but I totally love the way they look when paired with the black vest and crop top with the gold statement necklace.
I also totally love the bangs and the studded ankle boots (STUNNING!)

Hey people!

Here’s a quickie update on our favorite Gossip Girl couples:

Olivia (aka Hilary Duff) is gone for good and will not come back. This season, anyway. Vanessa and Dan will be getting it on for sure. As will Nate and Serena. They will be the “bona fide” couple. Chuck and Blair will continue to go strong. Aw. And Rufus and Lily will be heading for trouble. Perhaps something to do with that letter from a certain ex husband and the father of her children?

All we can do is wait to watch!

Hey everyone.

Leighton Meester was spotted at the American Eagle Outfitters flagship store preview party with maybe a little too much 80’s egde going on.

She has opted with dark shaded purple eyeshadow that clashes with her bright red lips.This is a continuation of this article, by Arushi

I have to say that the eye makeup is way to harsh for her delicate skin tone. It makes her look quite washed out and off colour.
But I do love the red lips though.

She has also decided to go with a complete leather mini dress and gorgeous ethnic-looking gladiator heels. She has accessorized with a cute-as gold bangle and statement clutch (which I love).
The bangle and clutch complement the heels and the black nails give a bit of edge.

I just feel like the leather mini is too edgy for the makeup. I believe that the ensemble should have been toned down and a little less ‘rocker-edge’.
I would have gone for gold hoop earrings with my hair pulled back and cute high waisted mini shorts with gold detailing(buckles/buttons) with a simple black singlet shirt plus the accessories she has already chosen.

Bu that is changing the ‘look’ she was going for so overall, the outfit would not have been that bad is she had toned the make-up down.

Anyone agree?

I always appreciate Leighton’s fashion risks but I am a little diappointed by this one:(

Hey again!

Michelle Trachtenberg has attended the American Eagle Outfitters preview party along with many other famous stars, Including the beautiful Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr!

I have done posts on them so take a look at them too:)

Ok, I am so loving this entire ensemble!
She looks chique and sexy with a fresh twist.

She has opted for a gorgeous teal greeny blue cocktail dress paired with a black and white blazer.
She has accessorized amazingly with a stunning chain necklace, lovely gladiator studded heels, a cute-as oversized ring and a vair edgy oversized leopard print clutch.
The black and white blazer over the stunning cocktail mini is a perfect clash of colours while the necklace and gladiators with the ring keep everything cohesive and matching.
The dress gives the ensemble a huge pop of colour and the clutch give that clash of textures and patterns that looks amazing and totally works!

She has polished off the look by going with simple and sleeked back hair, and simple makeup that makes her eyes pop!

She could have looked disasturous but she has pulled this off amazingly!
I would absolutely wear this – 100%

The actress has also mentioned she will design a jewelry collaboration for ’Coach’s’ Poppy line. Her first jewelry collection will be in stores this coming spring and will include intricate hardware, faux pearls and crystals in all sorts of colors.

“Boys make you stupid and boys make you lucid”, part 1: Fantasy

God, it’s so great to finally have a True Original Gossip Girl episode!! More than “They Shoot Humphreys, don’t they?” I think this one will go down in history! So many brilliant dramatic issues reached out for the surface, allowing us at last to catch a glimpse of everything that was going on deep down for “neglected” characters…And I must say I was thrilled to see that my predictions were correct, since those characters are mainly…BOYS! But there’s so much to talk about, let’s start:

I absolutely LOVED the episode’s beginning, the great music along with Dan’s strut (which can’t help to remind me of Travolta’s famous strut by the end of “Stayin’ Alive” or more recently, Tobey McGuire strut in Spiderman 3); we really got a new perspective of Dan’s personality on that episode, that new aspect being…he’s a complete idiot, both for what he did and for the vanity he claims upon it; but no big deal, personally seeing him that cool and “I’m too sexy for my shirt”‘ was cult and hot and funny…Well, let’s just say it, it was all pure Gossip Girl, especially if you add the next sequences, the fantasied remembrance of the threesome, we hardly had a glance of. Somehow, it was new to understand that in spite of all the talking and the “being original-from Brooklyn-I want to be a writer”, Dan in fact is nothing more than an average college boy having average college fantasies. And you have to admit that, if we pretend for one minute that Blair, Serena, Nate and Chuck don’t exist in the series, well maybe we would”nt have liked all this ordinariness that much. And this is where things become interesting for us. Gossip Girl is not about an average student boy leading a normal college life full of experiences. Gossip Girl is about the rich and famous from the Upper East Side, their rules, codes, borderlines and the pressure they can put to outcasts who cross their way, whether they want it or not.

That being reminded, the whole threesome thing seems nothing more than another unintended blunder from the series’ Lonely Boy. He expected to bring this story to Nate like a trophy -the question remaining is, a trophy of what exactly, of awesomeness (”How awesome am I?!”)?- and he ends up losing his actual girlfriend and his true girlfriend. If we all were Upper East Siders we would pity him -or maybe make fun of him. But to most of us who aren’t (I suppose), we feel both the excitement and the delusion: for we too may have believed that besides money, one of the main things we envied the rich and famous was daring experiences, this strange mix of risk and adventure. And, “stupid” as we are, like Dan, we would have simply believed confidence and self-assurance would do the trick: the most important would then be to just do it.

Wrong: you can’t simply do it, make your fantasy come true: you also have to do it RIGHT. Who said anything about the rich and famous being more free from rules than we are? Good society, good “making your wish come true” experiences must be abided by. And in that case, the main rule was: in a threesome, the third person has to be a stranger, that’s all. Nate and Blair learned their lesson well from their “teacher”, Chuck. But instead of learning from his huge mistake and trying to avoid collateral damages, Dan remains under the influence of his perfect picture, without foreseeing any true clarification of the “status quo”. Even Olivia falls for some illusion (the scene where Vanessa kicks her out of bed) before accepting the truth. Vanessa is the one without any visual memory of the night, as well as she stands for the most lucid of them all, the one explicitly worried about the consequences. And the gap between her and Dan might have never been broader than when he kisses her on stage and sees, remembers and feels again the truth of his feelings for her -truth Olivia had also witnessed. On this very moment, Dan realizes that the only thing he managed to make come true through this threesome was his love for Vanessa. But since this love is just a very private experience, by the end of the episode it exists nowhere else but in his consciousness

In the previous episode, the girls were the ones highlighting the boys’ good sense and behavior; here Dan turns the situation round, he underlines by contrast the girls’ perspectiveness, not only Olivia and Vanesse but also Blair who keeps cool to save her night (her absolute self control did impress me a lot, especially when considered the fun she had been made of by the Tisch students).

I shall end this first part out of two on the other Humphrey who fell into the same excitement-adventurous fantasy trap as her older brother -but we’re not surprised, Jenny has already shown she was capable of the worst as well as the best. Her movie-like “international drug dealer” (she even pictured him dealing in the alley) brings something new to her wealthy -yet boring- life. And I think here we all agree that his delusive figure makes her stupid…
