Born on 27.June 1987 in Hertfordshire, UK but finishing his school career in southern California Ed just started his acting career in 2006 in “Children of men” – co-starring Julianne Moore and Clive Owen. He also had several guestroles in TV-Shows like “Casualty” and “Doctors”.

In 2008 Ed Westwick won the “Teen Choice Award” in the category Choice TV-Villain for playing Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl. “I’d like to say I’m not a lot like Chuck because you know everyone really sees Chuck as the bad guy.. he’s the one you love to hate, I guess. He’s got a lot of like bad aspects to his personality .. so I try hard not to be like him but I think there’s moments when I can definitely relate to him. [..] Everyone’s arrogant.” Ed claims to be more of his characters ‘soft side’ – but I’d like to think that Chuck Bass is the arrogant bitch he’s been in the show so far. No need for a soft side, is there?

Ed, who has two older brothers never actually learned speaking American English but says that he thinks he’s kind of gifted as people told him that he’s actually going pretty good on it.

But the handsome british young man has another passion besides acting. He’s the leadsinger of the band “The Filthy Youth” – so everytime he has some time off from the sets of Gossip Girl he tries to fly to England in order to rock London together with his other bandmembers.
