Fashion Wars: Blake Lively VS Taylor Momsen VS Leighton Meester(with her stylist)

Hey people!
It’s been absolutely ages since I’ve done one of my “Fashion Wars” posts so here I am, ready to deliver. I’d been getting a few comments asking why I wasn’t and being the nice, considerate one that I am, I went ahead and looked around and put these up.
Leighton Meester seen here wearing an acid washed denim vest, black tank, a tan fringed suede bag and fierce black gladiator-esque flats with her stylist, Logan Horne. She is known to be the only cast member with a stylist as she confesses herself that she’s not the most fashion-fluent. So here’s the man behind the screen.
Personally, I love the bag and the shoes. The jacket is a fabulous find, but it doesn’t really look that great with the tank and makes her ass look kind of wide which it so clearly isn’t. All in all, nice but could’ve been better.
Blake Lively seen wearing a tan leather jacket, peacock printed blouse, grey hot pants, a brown quilted Chanel bag, and uber covetable beige-y Giuseppe Zanotti patent booties. My take? Loving the jacket, it’s a perfect fit but I think she overdid the brown hues. The jacket, the bag and the shoes. The peacock top is gorgeous too and adds a pop of color to an otherwise more subtle outfit. Final verdict: nice but has scope for improvement.
Taylor Momsen seen wearing…what? Words leave me. Okay, they don’t. What the heck were you thinking Taylor? You look like a freakin Dynasty extra and it’s creeping me out. You need a stylist. Call Leighton, like, now. Okay, thanks.

Blake has better style than Taylor and Leighton put together.
Taylor all the way! Those clothes don’t suit Blake or Leighton.
If you’re going to do an editorial, please view it more as a chance for FASHION CRITIQUE, which means giving suggestions for what they should have done, and keep the language on the DL. I agree that I have no idea what Taylor is wearing. That outfit looks like she just threw some stuff on and headed out the door. And I think that she could use more color than just black. Adding color like some vibrant reds or purples or even some gray/white would have been nice. Blake is definitelly going too big on the earthy tones. The shoes have two many straps, so maybe -4 would be better. Either the denim shirt needs to have its sleeves attached, or the denim jacket shouldn’t be paired with anything at all, because it makes her look kinda tomboyish, and not in a good way.

Blake looks best I think…Leighton´s look don´t suit her weel and Taylor looks a bit strange, but her shoes are cool and her sunglasses too. I like her most, but she has to change this outfit….It´s too gothic for her.

Actually, I’ve discovered the only reason I was supporting Taylor here was because she was at least being a bit adventurous and creative with her style. Leighton and Taylor are just being boring, in my opinion, and look kind of dull. On the other hand, Taylor doesn’t look that great either, but at least she’s trying something new!
okay, I usually love Taylor’s and Leighton’s style, but not in this pics.
Taylor is very original and creative though.

blake by far, she is always the most chic and sophisticated, leighton looks mommy esque with that hair, the tank and leggings combo makes her ass look far bigger, so all in all giving her a “mommy” effect, maybe she would be better off without the stylist. and taylor, oh taylor love the boots but please get rid of the extensions they look cheap and the out fit al together is a debacle.
Were I live everyone dresses like Taylor, she’s fashion forward and breaks away from “cute”. I hate “cute”, I wanna kill “cute”!

yes taylor pushes away from cute and most of the time its spectacular. and still i must say i adore her boots.
however in this particular outfit taylor looks like shes off to a biker bar to find her some awful bearded neanderthal to bed and possibly steal his bikie vest.
if everyone where you live dresses like this, either you live right next door to a biker bar or they just have no idea how to dress. that is not fashion foward its not fashion anything.
You need to check the Winter look-books and see what Fashion really is, say no more.
i dont think fashion can be defined so theres really no way to dictate what fashion “really is”. look books show case the designers individual style forecasts for the season. so if you are saying i need to look at look books and see what designers personal styles are, or look at the lookbook website and see what those particular individuals styles are, then i did that, i do that every season. and even with me looking at these and taking in as many magazines and videos of or paris fashion week that i could i cant see taylors little look that she has going being “fashion foward”, or the definition of what fashion “really is”.
oh and just because something like that is in lookbooks, wich it is, and i acknowledge that, doesnt mean it looks good. you cant just follow look books you need to forge your own style. and i guess evidently you dont do that, because like you said everyone where you live dresses the same(Were I live everyone dresses like Taylor). taylor is falling into a niche and its not a good one, she only follows the lookbooks like you said.
and as for me needing to see what fashion really is. i have my own style and i love it, sorry i dont worship taylors trashy new look.

Where I live everyone is wearing those gladiator sandels and I love them but maybe she should concider a few less straps. I love Blakes style. I really hate Leighton’s look. It definitely does not match her figure and makes her bottom look wider (sorry to those who do have a larger bottom, it looks good but Leighton doesnt really have one so it looks out of place on her). Her hair doesnt match her either. Neither does the clothes but the gladiators are cute. Everyones wearing them here in Australia. Anyway Blake looks good. Brown suits her but its nice she put one item that was colourful. And Taylor, I’m speechless. She looks awful. You can really see on her stomach that shes getting really skinny. And she should really get some fashion tips from Jenny. <3

@ExOh- This is NOT fashion forward. And yes, I’ve seen every lookbook there is to see. Look at Balmain, look at Givenchy. Those are the goth inspired and there is no trace of any ugly, tacky Pleather skirts. Totally agree with Emma.

I didn’t say I liked the leather skirt, I think the fit’s wrong. It’s just the rest of the outfit is 90’s grunge glamour like Kate Moss for Topshop’s winter range. This isn’t one of her best outfits but I still love the boots & most of the things she wears. I think too many people hate on Taylor because she doesn’t dress like the rest of the cast and has too much edge for most people to carry off themselves. BTW if you’ve “seen every lookbook there is to seen” have a look at the texture and leather in the Prada Lookbook.
leather is good.prada is amazing. taylor momsens skirt is awful. this is not grunge glamour, sorry darling, its tacky. and i dont think taylor momsen and prada should be said in the same paragraph, let alone having you suggest even the tiniest bit that taylors outfit is justified by the gorgeous and CLASSY use of leather in the prada lookbook. taylor momsen and prada are worlds apart. and you suggested i should look at a lookbook, really? maybe you should take some inspiration from the prada you apparently know so well and get some class.

yes that is true i really do not know anything about you but i have learned several things. 1) you obviously have no taste or class in how you dress if you beleive taylor momsen looks good. 2) you cannot understand how the use of leather in prada’s collection does not justify taylors awful skirt 3)you seem to think that the last paragraph i posted was a comeback when infact it was not as you were not insulting me, you were trying to undermine another commenters knowledge of fashion and i defended him or her like he or she did for me. and 4) apparently you are also not that intelligent as you were seemingly unable to guage the actual meaning of my paragraph.

Lord all might, skirt and tack! Please provide a quote where I defended the skirt that you keep going on about, I said I like Taylor’s style and the fact that she steers away from cute however I didn’t once claim that I dressed like her. Also note how you’ve managed to repeat and rephrase yourself four times, each time you came back you managed to make a lengthy paragraph of it.
By the way, I wouldn’t class this as an argument, I’d rather class this as a bored little girl named Emma getting excited over her keyboard but in conclusion I’ll tell you what I’ve learnt learnt from this…
