Last week we reported about Gossip Girl premiering in Germany. Curious what it sounds like? How about France? Italy? This is your chance! xoxo
Hey you guys. Since we all have been very stressed out with trying to figure out what will probably happen next, gossiping about the last episodes with our friends, complaining about these effing long breaks between episodes, or discussing the newest news about the cast mebers, I wanted to show you what people in other countries listen to, when they watch Gossip Girl. So give your brains a rest and just enjoy.
First we’re paying Italy a visit.

Well, I don’t know if the people that live in France and Italy think the same way I do, but me being german, I thing the voices and the translations are completely hideous and ridiculous. But it’s a lot of fun to see what they have done the the original, isn’t it?

I’ve just read that Gossip Girl starts today (april 16th) in Spain. We’ve been dreaming about this for months …. *o*

they shouldn´t change their voices!
it´s enough with subtitles.
I live in Sweden and we are good at english so we don´t need to cange the languages like italy in every show in the world.
Learn english instead! you are destroying half of the part by taking away their voices
@ Linnea: Couldn’t agree more. It’s the interplay of the acting and the way they carry their own emotions in their voices that makes the show so good. By changing the voices, there’s something missing, I think.
But it’s kind of hilarious to watch/hear, don’t you think?
the german translation sounds ridiculous .. it’s a lot better to watch it in english ..

i hate gossip girl on german. the voices! bad, very very bad.
i sooo agree with linnea they shouldn’t change the voices! it sounds stupid!
I kind of like the italian version even though I don’t understand a word, well except from bambino!
Today Gossip Girl aired finally in Germany!!! But the time is quite weird! I mean at 4pm on Saturday! Who the hell has the time to watch it??? I think I better stick to the english version!

I am so happy that we in the netherlands don’t voice-over the characters.
I agree with Klara, the emotions are carried trought he voices not hearing it just sounds not done.
And here they are complaining about gasps? With us we have to wait for 6 or 7 months for it too air they stop in the middle of a season.
I love that I can watch it here if I couldn’t I would sue the tv-company in our country!

Hahaha wow that was interesting!
I speak French [not fluently... but pretty close I'd like to think] and some of the translations in the scenes shown were weird! There were parts I couldn’t remember exactly what was said, but yeah
also Blair’s German voiceover sounds really old xD
and Chuck’s Italian voice doesn’t sound right
hahaha they sound so weird in italian and german lol:D
in the italian version blair+chuck sound sexy!! rufus sounds just like Matthew Settle + Dan sounds gay!!
in the french version all the voices are fine, while in the german one dan’s is the best!!! (I want 2 listen 2 more of the german-chuck..out of curiosity)
What i think about the voices:
Chuck is Italian is HOT!
Blair in Italian is sweet!
Nate in Italian is gross!
Serena is really nice in French!
Dan (this was a shock 2 me) is really hot in French!
Jenny is so nice in French!
Serena is better in Germany then Blair’s voice…
Being a HUGE Chair fan i really hope they did good translations. I watch a few movies from other countries and know hoe lame the voice overs can be! xx

I’m italian, but i see gossip girl in english with sub. And I agree with you, English sounds so much better. And I hate italian translation, we lost a lot of banter and word with a double meaning, like damn mother-chucker or basshole.
