Hey GGers! Sorry I didn’t post the review sooner – procrastination has been strong lately xD

First of all, what an episode! Granted, it wasn’t the most amazing one I have ever seen, but it was not lacking in drama by any means [rhyme]. Serena – woah!! When I saw the promos I knew this was going to be a storyline I enjoyed… As far as I know it’s pretty original amongst shows of its type [I don't know, I don't watch many of them] and it definitely kept me going. I liked what I saw of Serena and Cyrus talking – usually a lot of the main and subcharacters don’t actually end up talking even though in real life they would, and I liked how this bought that element in. Serena and Dan? Ohhhh Dan, you know you still have feelings for her, but don’t do it. You f***ed her for a while, and then you hooked up with her ex-best friend, and she indirectly killed a guy. It’s just a mess [Sorry Derena fans... the magic just isn't there anymore]. Now, Sabriel, Gerena? xD I’m not sure about them. Obviously we know that he ends up cheating, from the promos of 22. I just feel like he just wanted a tall blonde drunk hook up on vacation… and then when she’d disappeared he wasn’t quite ready to finish it. Also Poppy can go die… I just don’t like her, sorry guys xD Although I did feel sorry for her the fact that she has a fight with her boyfriend then he hooks up with her much cuter friend and almost gets married to her in Spain. I mean, that’s gotta hurt, right? Personally even if I hadn’t seen the 22 promos, I would have come to the conclusion that Gabriel is bad news. Also, I don’t find him good-looking. Is this just me?
Another guy I don’t find good-looking at all is Jenny’s new love interest. Sure, it’s nice for her to be finding people her own age to spend time with and date, and SMART people at that [he was helping her with a science project, if I remember rightly] but really, I just don’t see it. What I didn’t like from her in this episode is when she told off Chuck for the

kiss-on-the-lips party. It would have been MUCH better if she’d have confronted him in season 1 at least. Why wait this long?! She had plenty of opportunities. It just seemed like a really random thing to put in, as if they needed a storyline for Jenny and thought they might as well shove it in, like “yeahh, this’ll do, our viewers won’t care.” Well we DO care, GG, stop giving us stupid mini-storylines.

Chuckkkkk – oh lovely, wonderful Chuck (yes I am in love with him, okay?), I thought it was pretty funny how Vanessa was just a one-night stand. To be honest I’m not a massive fan of Vanessa [probably stemming from Jess dating my future husband], so I think she deserved it. Besides, she’s changed wayyyy too much, she needed a wake-up call. Anyway, Chuck and that girl… I liked how GG has brought it round full circle, with Serena and Gabriel, and Chuck and that random prostititute. I also liked how he apologized to Jenny although again, too late, not relevant to anything, GG. And how he kinda encouraged Nate to get back with Blair. Yes, I dislike Nair very much, but the way C did it was sweet and I may or may not have let out a little squee >_>

normal_0527BLAIR!! Ohh, I did quite enjoy her in this episode. Of course she is very different with Nate than she is with Chuck, and I don’t usually like her personality with Nate, it seems really fake and superficial and angelic, but her new mission to be a socialite, just for that one episode, I enjoyed. It feels like it was a rebound action really, from all her Yale troubles, and for a while, it kept her happy :) Sweet apologising to Cyrus at the end, and glad she’s trying to make something intelligent and challenging of herself, I just think she would have been a good intelligent socialite [I'm pretty sure they exist somewhere]. I felt sorry for her being put under all that pressure from Nate’s grandfather. I REALLY don’t like him. Adding to that how he turned the captain in… I mean I know it was for the best in the end, but I mean, wtf? Backstabbing much? At least tell your grandson you’re going to turn his father in, geez. I’m glad Nate began to turn away from his grandfather a bit in this episode, his role in the previous episodes as mama’s boy who grows up to be just like his granddaddy, earning lots of money and having a very respectable wife with a nice country house up in Hamptons, was killing me slowly inside. What happened to our beloved Nate from season 1?! :(
Dan – lol Dan. A cater waiter? xD THE BEST HE COULD COME UP WITH TO SAVE FOR YALE. Geez. Ah well, was a nice addition to the mix of the passover dinner with the Serena and Gabriel storyline, and Lily’s line: “Oh you two haven’t-” bahahah xD I feel your pain Lil, I feel it. I’d be killing them too. Also, does it feel to anyone else that Rufus and Lily are being sidelined a little? They were running red hot until the end of episode 16, and it was all sweet and lovely, and then 17 came and there wasn’t that much else, apart from the past lovers thing but let’s not go there xD I know there’s going to be the whole 80s flashbacks in 24 though, which is excitingggg :D I really wanna see the new spinoff show. It looks reeeeeally good. I don’t know how they’re going to fit it in to all the other characters though, with the flashbacks, I mean. We’ll just have to see.
Also where was Eric? :( He’s my gay bestie!
Anyway, I think I’ve covered everything, overall it was a good episode, could have been better but then I’m hoping it’s leading up to the last 4 episodes for the final storylines of the season.
Xoxo!
