Gossip Girl
There Might Be Blood - Review
Lisa is seeing if she should become a writer. She is 18 and trying to choose a major. Let her know your thoughts. xoxo
Gossip Girl is a show about a judgmental boy named Dan. In this episode, he judges Nate, Vanessa, and his sister Jenny. After he is done judging them wanting morally, he decides that he should follow suit – this is a very bad message for our youth
Jenny is a 15-year-old girl in outright rebellion of her father. She wears Goth make up and is a very bad role model.
The parents on this show are all either ineffective or outright evil. No one ever goes to church on Gossip Girl.
Objectionable Material: The character Blair believes that she has been given a sign from God to blackmail an adulterous mother to get into Yale.
Blair is supposed to be babysitting what looks to be a 14-year-old girl. This girl is described as being “less Holly Hobby and more Jenna Jameson.” Jameson is a well known porn star.
The young girl states her need to lose her virginity immediately possibly with a young man who is described as the “devirginator.”
Other Objectionable Quotes and References in Regard to the 14-Year-Old: “I want Bacardi and a boy — this body is open for business.”
Sex filmed with a nanny-cam is mentioned.
She meets a guy named Chuck Bass who answers to “Aren’t you the devil?” and offers her virginity to him.
More Blasphemy: Chuck later refers to the back of his limo as “sacred.”
Another youth, Nate, is accused of trading sex for money. He can’t even remember the name of the girl he macked on when he visited Yale just a few weeks ago and then pursues young Jenny despite the fact that her father took him in off of the streets where he was apparently a male prostitute.

ur good lisa what type of writer do u plan to b? interesting use of words…
sorry, but if you plan on being a published writer then you’ll need to start checking your facts. you got a lot of things wrong about the show and twisted the words of many characters to make it sound much worse than it is. what you’ve written is ludicrous.
wowww. what you wrote is insane, you have totally missed the point of gossip girl. Dan is not at all judgmental, you are judgemental. and it shows the charachter’s personalities. You took things and twisted them to make everyone seem bad. All you have are opinions, and they aren’t very good.
Just because someone doesn’t go to church, doesn’t make them “down-evil”.
And what you wrote isn’t even a review, its like you’re lame opinion on everyone on the show.
Whatever Lisa, i wouldn’t buy your book, yet alone waste my time reading another one of your “reviews”.
Stop watching gossip girl if all the charachters are so crappy.
YOU SUCK.
gossip girl isn’t about a judgemental boy named Dan, its about the social lives of upper class people who live in Manhattan.
chose another major.
i agree with dana, you suck.
you totally twisted the plot of gossip girl and make it sound as if its a horrible show.
a review should be done in an objective point of view and not in your own twisted and judgemental opinion.
you should do gossip girl a favor and stop watching it.
haha it’s kinda funny how you just decide to review “Gossip Girl” after watching just a single episode which i may add is in the second season.
now that’s just a dumb move for a “reveiwer” and even worse for a so called “wanna-be writter”
you wanna write about something how about you do some background checks and get more information about what the hell you’re writing about.
oh whoops did i say hell?
does that mean i’m devilish?
ohhh scandal! oh no i’ve been watching gossdip girl so now apparently my life has been influenced by what they do! oh my gosh i wish i was rich and could wear goth make-up just like jenny!
Congratulations. You are SERIOUSLY the PRIME example of someone who learns a TINSEY TINY bit of information about something and goes off parading to the world about how much you’ve got it figured out. I know it’s just a show and all, but really, you shouldn’t write a whole critical, misinterpreting article on something you know very little about. Honestly, it’s a little embarassing, don’t you think? Okay, so what if you DO know how to figure everything out in a millisecond, in the INTRO of the show it says, if you need reminding that is, “The SCANDALOUS lives of Manhattan’s elite”
Golden word: SCANDALOUS
NOT 7th heaven, or full house, if you want to get a good clearer message of whats right and wrong, then go watch those AMAZING shows and come back and write something worth reading.
Thanks,
and also Nate’s not a male street prostitute. You’d know that if you uh, whats the term, yeah pay attention.
this is very one sided….
to review doesnt only mean to criticize this destructively
you should lighten it up a bit
i agree, why are you critiscising the show? The people who visit this website dont come here to pay the show out at every possibility, no they come to watch a show that they love.
Also your veiws are strongly based on religion are they not?
Dan isn’t a judgemental person, and the show does not soully revolve around him, I would not say the Jennys makup is goth, stereotypically a goth is very pale and wears black lipstick etc. Jennys bright coloured designs also opens a window for her personatlity.
the whole Blair/Emma affair is a mature subject but the writers have made it into a witty event.
Nate is not a prostitute, if you had actually did your homework and watch other episodes, you would have realised that he had a affair with another woman whom sometime after the affair had started she gave him some money in exchange for his services as he had a rough financial situation.
I think next time you do a reveiw remember you are writing towards a wide audience, and especially when people want a review of an episode, not a peice of writing saying how stupid the show is in very religous ways.
the other people show wonderful points and maybe in your reveiw next time you can improve your writing by using the suggestions I and everyone else has provided.
no, no no, no no.
you need to watch everything lisa, EVERYTHING.
as an aspiring writer you have to know what you are writing about. you just got it all wrong.
My god you’re a sap!!!
What the hell are you doing even watching gossip girl if all you’re going to do is moan about it?!
Maybe you should watch some 7th heaven, seems like it might be more your style.
By the by, I believe that intelligence is generally considered to be a prerequisite for becoming a “writer”. Sorry if I burst your little bubble.
I also plan to be an English major, and I’m not impressed. Your use of language is very basic, banal, and altogether uninteresting.
Style aside, the content in your review - as everyone is stating - is god-awful. This show is not for prudes; it does have objectionable material and it doesn’t offer “wholesome christian family values.” Watch something else for that crap.
She pretty much sounds like a raving religious type…
And the vocabulary used is terrible. She used the words judge, judgement and judging in one little paragraph - its called synonyms. Try it out.
On the basis of this I don’t think you should become a writer. You couldn’t even get your facts straight let alone present them in a way that was any way readable. Did you write it as a sunday school project?
no affence but ur so bloody wrong, 1st of all gg isn’t supposed to influence teens, its just supposed to be entertaining and show what happens in real life, and 2nd, u can’t just come in and critises a show like this from just watching 1 ep in the middle of season 2
that AARON guy … HAS TO BE KILLED!!!!!
Lisa,
I want to write you a letter of recommendation. So you can attend an Upper- east side grammar school and learn some new vocabulary words. You are narrow minded and “down right stupid”.
But otherwise, great job … we had a great time reading your so called “review” with my friend … you made our day! I’ll keep it in my “Favorites” so I read it on a bad day … and have a laugh.
You know you love me. XOXO
