A new Gossip Girl Spinoff announced. CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff confirms that there is nothing yet official, but they are currently examining ways to do it.

So…let’s talk. Who could be spun off and how? Frankly, I don’t think main characters including Dan, Serena, Blair or Chuck (and to a lesser extent, Nate, though of the core group I think he’s the most expendable) are even options…as it would ruin Gossip Girl.
The obvious choice is Jenny. What do you think? If they got a spinoff, would you want them to leave Gossip Girl or be on BOTH shows?

if jenny had her own spinoff it could be based on the books “it girl” which is all about her in collage.
Agreed that the obvious choice is Jenny, and they can even base it on the it-girl series sort of, and it would work if the character Jenny was gone, because for whatever reason, she went to boarding school.
What exactly would Chuck & Blair do IF they did have their own show? What, would it be like Flight 29 down or Lost, except that there would be only two people that have to find a way out of the island, or it would turn out to be a super long relaxing vacation. I don’t find that too exciting.

i dont see the need to jump into ‘the it girl’ books when gossip girl is only in the 2nd season. maybe in a year or two it would be kool but i think they are just rushing themselves
i think i’tll not be that exciting if you have to make a one gg character have its own show or sumthin, gg is great as it is. just make many seasons of gg! and make some more trouble or happy events! and more chuck and blair. make one whole episode per character about them so that we may kno what kind of person are they or addsome characters too. thats my suggestion
I heard that the spinoff isn’t going to be based on the it girl novels, so I don’t necessarily think its going to be centred on jenny…
I love gossip girl just as it is…spinoffs are hardly ever as good as the original so atm I’m not very excited about it

If Chuck or Blair go on another show their is no point to watch gossip girl,I would watch spin of Jenny,because of book’s The it girl.Or Vanessa they don’t have that important role on gossip girl so I would not mind if they have they own show and yes I would watch it.
Or if any character go on another show,I would like to see them on bout shows.
This doesn’t surprise me, I wonder why so many of the people are surprised. I guess they didn’t read the books. Jenny’s sophomore year is the year she leaves to go to boarding school, thus the new book series the it girl and te possible show the it girl. Its just her getting kicked out of Constace Billard and all of the things she’d done that the beginning of hte book and her being on the train and stuff to I believe upstate new york, but IDK I haven’t read it. oh yeah and BTW I don’t like how the show is all weird and how it changed by comparision to the book, the book is better and the xoxo thing has to go its awkward and too long. also…

kay so i absolutely LOVE the it girl series. I don’t think it’s too soon it can just be a new show next year
I think jenny could still be in GG just not a lot, i mean she will be there for thanksgiving and christmas, etc. And yeah there’s a ton of characters in it girl i would love to see who would play Tinsley and I think it would be an awesome show ! by the way typing out your blog 50 times is not going to make us want to go to it any more. vanessa is annoying so yeah I kinda want her to leave but I cant see her on her own show. Plus Jenny’s a bitch on the show now and she used to be one of my faves but she’s way over the top and her character has changed completely, I like old Jenny better. Gossip Girl is the best!! <3
